Bryce Berger Handraulic Starter System
This hydraulic starter system, originally designed in France by Demarreur Hydraulique Berger, provides a second starting method for diesel engines and is common fitted to engines driving fire pumps & emergency generators.
During its history the system has been manufactured under different brands including, Bryce Berger, Lucas Bryce, Lucas Industries & most recently Prestolite.
The basic design has remained largely unchanged in principle and includes 2 models, B35 & the larger B50 which will start diesel engines with cylinder bores of up to 160mm. |

Simms Spring Starter
The Simms / Lucas spring starter can be used to replace, or in addition to, a standard electric starter motor.
The motor is wound with a lever by hand & can be used to start small diesel engines in the absence of an electrical supply.
